An exciting 2 day expressive landscape workshop at and around The Rollright Stones
CANCELLED DUE TO CORONAVIRUS
15th & 16th March 2020
Rollright Village Hall
7 Hill Rise,
Taking our inspiration at and around the Rollright Stones, the workshop is designed to help you ‘loosen up’ with activities to develop creative and expressive mark-making.
We will look at the work of painters such as Ivon Hitchens, John Piper, Joan Eardley, Kyffin Williams, Kurt Jackson and Frank Auerbach. Their use of composition and colour, mark-making and technique can inform and inspire. You will make a series of small semi-abstract landscape paintings, and you may start a larger piece.
We will use a range of media to include inks, acrylic paints, oil pastels, soft pastels, collage, graphite, charcoal.
All papers will be provided, as well as light refreshments.
Bring your own lunch and equipment (click here for list) or borrow mine.
Please get in touch as soon as possible to book a place.

Comments from course participants:
"I really enjoyed the workshop. You had set it up so carefully so that everyone had a good spot and the flowers were beautiful. ... the session was fun playful, guided and stimulating and ultimately productive."
"Time flew by and lots to think about while having fun making pictures. Very welcoming and encouraging, great cake and coffee. Really well set up and resourced."
"Caroline's welcome making one feel relaxed and comfortable immediately dispels any nervousness and apprehension. At the end of a full day working I was amazaed at the amount of work produced and happy with my results. Well worth doing. Thank you so much."
"Caroline's classes are so enjoyable and well paced. What to expect from the day is explained at the start with plenty of time to warm up and practise of 'play' as Caroline calls it. There are demonstrations, lots of encouragement and Caroline's homemade cake!"
